Tengboche
After a rest day in Namche the next stop on the trail to Everest base Camp is in Tengboche, a very beautiful village at 3.687 meters. Tenzing Norgay, the sherpa who first summited Everest lived in this village. It has an important Buddhist monastery and Tenzing was once sent to be a monk there.
The village and it's surroundings are very beautiful. It has amazing panoramic views of the well-known peaks of Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku.
