Lobuche
Lobuche, elevation of about 4,940 meters, is just about the last overnight lodging on the trek to Everest Base Camp. It's getting higher, thinner, colder and rougher.
There is still Gorakshep about 200 m higher, the plan is to stop there tomorrow and still have walls around us for the night. But then that's it, living in tents will be the new reality. Looking forward to it!
The 62 km trip from Lukla at 2800m that takes us ten days uphill, mostly because of the acclimatization process, can be done in three days when going down. Here is a nice animation of the route:
